Search "best AI calling company in India" and you get a dozen ranked lists, most of them written by vendors who happen to rank themselves first. We have published one of those too, for Hyderabad specifically, so take this with the appropriate scepticism — we are a participant in this market, not a neutral analyst.
What we can usefully offer is the map. After a couple of thousand deployments' worth of competitive conversations, Indian AI calling vendors sort into five fairly distinct categories, and most bad purchases come from buying out of the wrong one rather than picking the wrong name inside the right one.
Why "best AI calling company" is the wrong question
Every vendor on every list can place a phone call with a synthetic voice that sounds reasonably human in Hindi. That stopped being a differentiator somewhere in 2024. Judging vendors on call quality now is like judging hosting providers on whether the server turns on.
The questions that actually separate them are duller and more specific. Does it handle a caller who starts in Telugu and finishes the sentence in English? Does the conversation survive the handoff to WhatsApp, or does the next channel start from zero? Does anything tell Meta that the lead converted, or does your ad spend keep optimising toward form fills? Can it chase a KYC document for three weeks, or does it only do first contact?
Those questions sort vendors cleanly. "Which is best" does not.
The five categories
Descriptions below reflect how each company positions itself publicly. Verify current capabilities directly — this market changes fast enough that any list is partly out of date by the time it is published.
1. Voice-AI platforms and APIs
Bolna, Sarvam AI, and the Indian deployments of global platforms like Retell and Vapi sit here. You get an API, a voice stack, strong Indian-language coverage, and a lot of freedom. Sarvam in particular has serious research behind its speech models.
This category is the right buy when you have engineers who want to build the orchestration themselves and you want maximum control over the conversation logic. It is the wrong buy when you expected a product and received a toolkit — the most common disappointment we hear about, and it is rarely the vendor's fault.
2. Managed AI with human fallback
SquadStack is the clearest example: AI handles volume, trained human agents take the calls that need judgment. For businesses that have historically outsourced telecalling and want the economics of AI without losing the hard conversations, this hybrid shape makes sense.
The trade-off is per-call economics and less control over the script. If your calls are genuinely high-stakes — large-ticket sales, sensitive collections — the human layer earns its cost. For high-volume routine qualification it is usually more than you need.
3. Enterprise conversational-AI suites
Kore.ai, Gnani AI, Yellow.ai, and Ozonetel serve large, often regulated enterprises — banks, insurers, telcos. Gnani has strong Indian-language speech research; Kore.ai and Ozonetel both have deep contact-centre heritage and Hyderabad operations.
If you are an enterprise with a procurement process, a security review, and an existing contact centre to integrate with, this is your category. If you are a 40-person real estate developer, the implementation timeline and minimum commitment will not fit how you actually work.
4. Telephony and CPaaS with an AI layer
Exotel, Knowlarity, and MyOperator came up through cloud telephony and added AI agents on top. Their advantage is real and underrated: they have run Indian telecom infrastructure for years, which is harder than it sounds — number provisioning, DLT compliance, call quality across circles, connectivity on patchy networks.
Buy here when telephony reliability is your binding constraint and the AI conversation is relatively simple. The AI layer is generally newer than the telephony underneath it.
5. Full-loop engagement platforms
This is where we put ourselves, so read accordingly. The argument for the category is that for most Indian businesses the call is not the problem — the gap between the call and the conversion is.
A lead gets qualified on a voice call. Then they go quiet. Someone needs to follow up on WhatsApp with the conversation history intact, the CRM needs the qualification notes against the right pipeline stage, and Meta needs to hear that this particular lead booked a site visit so it stops buying more form-fillers. Vendors whose product ends at the call leave you to assemble those three things yourself, which is where leads actually leak.
Convey Labs runs the loop as one system: ENGAGE for voice calling in 22+ Indian languages on our own IRA Indic speech engine, WhatsApp agents that continue the same conversation, and server-side conversion tracking that sends real outcomes back to Meta and Google. We are based in Madhapur, Hyderabad, we are a smaller company than most names above, and we are a poor fit if you want an API to build on or an enterprise procurement process to work through.
How to actually choose
Three things worth doing before you sign anything.
Hear the agent in your worst language case. Not the demo script. Ask for a live call in the language mix your actual leads use, with the code-switching they actually do. Most vendors sound equally good in clean Hindi and noticeably different in Telugu-English.
Ask what happens sixty minutes after the call. Where does the qualification land, what picks up the follow-up, and what does your ad platform learn. If the answer involves you building something, price that in.
Ask who configures it in month three. Prompts need tuning as objections change. Whether that is your team, their team, or nobody determines whether performance drifts.
The short version
There is no best AI calling company in India, and any list claiming otherwise, ours included, is selling something. There is a best fit for a specific problem, and the fastest way to find it is to stop comparing voice quality and start comparing what happens after the call ends.
If the full-loop argument is the one that matches your problem, talk to us. If it is not, one of the categories above probably fits better, and we would rather you buy well than buy from us.
